It’s a Saturday morning and I’m going through my emails only to find yet another clever marketing angle.
Being a member of Quidco, the online (or so I thought) cashback and voucher website, first I was impressed to see some time ago that they’d negotiated deals whereby as long as your credit card was registered with certain stores, just using it in-store would get you cashback. Note: for anyone who’s already doing this, make sure that when you have a new card, you update it on the Quidco site.
Now though I see the next thing – earning cashback for ‘checking-in’ using a mobile phone app, currently for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. For all the Android lovers (of which I hope to be one soon), rest assured there’s a Quidco for Android coming soon.
Examples of the ‘check in’ cashback are:
- Halfords – Earn 20p for a check-in at Halfords. Plus get 50% off selected tents and tent-packs this Summer.
- Carphone Warehouse – Get 25p for checking in and checking out the latest Android smartphones and tablets at Carphone Warehouse. Hurry offer ends Friday.
- New Look – Receive 10p cashback for checking into New Look on the high street until Friday. Look at their hot Summer fashion deals!
Nice!!
As a thought, B2B companies could also use this approach; it’s extremely cheap marketing for brand awareness after all, is it not?! They could always use a charity donation option if the view of cashback to an individual did not sit well within this arena.
Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
